CSC148 Slog: Why geeks should write

      People see Computer Scientists who are often called geeks to have good math programming skills. This view causes them to think Computer Scientists don’t have to write about what they do like other journalists. In CSC148 however, professor is telling students to write about their experience in the class every week.

      I think it is a good idea to write every week about what we learned. The reason is that after we write our Slogs, we know what we didn't understand in the lecture and start to find the answer for that. I was in CSC165 last term and the professor told me to write Slog too. At first, I was lazy to write every week so I missed few but later when I wrote it, I started to look at the lecture slides again to write what we learned. This helped me to review about what I studied and when I found something that I can’t understand, I went back to the previous lecture slides or looked it up in the next lecture. Computer Scientists also known as geeks should write to see their improvements and fill up their missing parts.
